Praxis Technologies, LLC d/b/a attorneystars.com (also referred to in this Privacy Policy as “our,” “us,” or “we”), provides a website (sometime herein, a “site”) with a searchable database of lawyers located in various states who have chosen to advertise their law practice with us, their specialty (where permitted) and their practice areas. We may refer to users and visitors to our site as such and as “you,” ‘your” or “yours” in this privacy policy.
How Our Site Works. Our website enables a visitor to search for a lawyer from among our lawyer advertisers who practice in a specific state and locale of the visitor’s choice. Our attorney advertisers list their specialties or practice areas so a visitor can search for lawyers who handle the type of matter or case of interest to the visitor. Our site enables the visitor to send a confidential message directly to a lawyer’s inbox. In addition to his or her name, the message can include the name and address and other contact information of the visitor and a brief description of the consultation requested. The visitor pays no fee or cost of any kind to attorneystars.com in order to search our database of lawyers or to send a request for help message to the inbox of one of our listed attorney. There is no membership or club to join or any requirement of paying ongoing dues or fees or costs of any kind by the visitor searching for legal assistance. Advertisements and links to other websites for various products and services both related and unrelated to legal matters also appear on our website, but there is no obligation to purchase or even review the products or services in order to search our database for a lawyer or to use our site.
Your Personal Information. We do not use or (except as set forth herein) retain any of the personally identifiable information contained in the email which a visitor sends to an attorney from our site using our messenger tool. We do no enable lawyers do not communicate with visitors to our site. Lawyers will not know if a visitor accessed their listing unless the visitor send a message to the lawyer via our site. When a message is sent by a visitor to a lawyer, the visitor receives a written confirmation that the message has been sent to the lawyer selected to receive it, and that the message has been deleted from our system. Confirmation of delivery of the message is not guaranteed. We also cannot guaranty that the lawyer will respond to the visitor’s message, and, if so, that the lawyer will accept the matter or case. Please note that we may retain a record of your personal information such as name and email address solely for archival purposes as necessary to comply with our legal or regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse and to enforce our Terms of Use or any other contract entered into between you and us. We do not store the credit card information provided by advertisers to make payments to us. We do retain bank confirmations and reconciliations of payments received from or credits issued to advertisers.
Other Information. Certain composite information regarding our visitors that we compile and retain is used for marketing and to improve our services. This information (which does not identify any visitor’s personally identifiable information) which would include our users’ demographic information; information about how visitors interact with our site and our advertisers; geographic location of visitors if a visitor’s device transmits location data and/or your IP address and you have activated a location-enabled site or service. We also may send survey questions about areas such as customer satisfaction and retain responses from visitors and advertisers, but the personal information of a survey respondent will not be requested and if given, will not be retained. We may retain records of transactions and activities on our site involving our advertisers, such as number of visitors, types of legal services requested; general information you voluntarily provide to us. In each of the above instances, no personally identifiable information will be utilized or disclosed to others.
